Founded in 1985, Nashville CARES is a 501(c)(3) AIDS service organization that serves 17 counties in northern Middle Tennessee. CARES’ mission is to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee through education, advocacy, and support to those at risk for or living with HIV. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 100 previously undiagnosed HIV-positive individuals will learn their status and be linked to HIV care and support to successfully manage their HIV disease. 1,885 (93%) of 2,025 clients engaged in care will achieve sustained HIV viral suppression (OVS). 100 at risk HIV negative individuals will enter and maintain PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxsis) therapy to prevent infection with HIV
