The mission of the Nashville Children’s Alliance (NCA) is to reduce the trauma of child abuse victims and their families by facilitating a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team approach to detection, investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse. It was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency in 1992. NCA provides a child-focused environment designed to meet the needs of abused children and their families for comfort, safety, support and treatment. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: Provide 190 children, ages 3-17, trauma-focused services from clinical therapists to help them heal from the trauma of abuse. 85% of these children will decrease (at the end of treatment) identified symptoms and increase improved functioning and/or positive coping at home and at school as evidenced by parent report and /or the pre and post-test trauma assessment tool. NCA will provide/facilitate three Multidisciplinary Team training sessions to build upon existing team relationships resulting in collaboration that is more effective during the investigative processes.
