Oasis Center has worked to improve the lives and conditions of vulnerable youth in Middle Tennessee for nearly 50 years. Founded in 1969 as a drop-in center for teens in crisis (and incorporated as a 501c3 in 1976), Oasis has steadily evolved into a comprehensive youth development agency, dedicated to the healthy development of at-risk youth in Middle Tennessee. Driven “to help youth grow, thrive, and create positive change in their lives and in our community,” Oasis provides Metro Nashville’s most comprehensive spectrum of opportunities for underserved youth. From crisis intervention to community engagement to college/career access, Oasis’s 20+ programs and services support the diverse needs of more than 3,000 teens and young adults annually. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 85% (123 of 145) of families will participate in counseling sessions during their child’s shelter stay. 55% (88 of 135) of shelter families will continue care by participating in aftercare counseling. 85% of youth placed in Fisk Courts will remain in permanent and supportive housing.
