Founded in 1984, Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee’s (PCAT) mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect across all 95 counties in Tennessee. Touchstones of PCAT include nationally accredited, evidenced based, in-home parent education and support programs to vulnerable families; parent to parent empowerment and community based, evidenced informed public education about the value of prevention. The funds requested in the application will support leadership training at Nashville’s Center for Nonprofit Management, consultation and mentoring from the Circle Center for Regional Program Managers, the employee wellness program, “Heart for Families” and components of PCAT’s Culture Warriors initiative. Up to three PCAT program staff will self-select and complete certified training programs for leadership and/or trauma informed organization and program practices. 75% of PCAT staff will participate in “Heart for Families” to include goals for wellness that include both physical activity and mindfulness practice.
