Established in 1995, Tennessee Justice Center (TJC) advocates on behalf of Tennesseans in need, in areas of public policy having the greatest impact on their health and welfare; by means which afford clients opportunities to make their own voices heard; and which emphasize collaboration across lines of race, class, and generation. Through advocacy, the agency seeks to improve health for Tennesseans by stopping improper termination of public health insurance coverage for children, amplifying consumer voices to expand access to quality health care, strengthening protections, making public programs more accountable and responsive to consumer needs, and improving the TennCare application and renewal process to ensure all Tennesseans can timely and efficiently enroll in coverage.
