Retreats & self-care

Our community is filled with compassionate people who commit to caring for others, while putting their own needs on the back-burner.

The Healing Trust has offered retreats since 2008 as a way to say thank you to nonprofit professionals in our community by providing a free day of rest, relaxation, and self-care centered on the belief that the healing and wholeness of service professionals matter as much as the clients they serve.

The retreats are for nonprofit staff and are limited to a maximum of 3 people from an organization in each retreat. EVERY person attending must register.  Please note that some sessions are reserved for specific members of our community. Retreats are facilitated by Abby Hyman and Ashiya Swan.

If you have any questions about the retreats, please please review our FAQs or contact Abby Hyman.

What to Expect

Healing for the Healer is a day of relaxation guided by the belief that rest and self-care are necessary practices for meaningful work.

Retreats begin slowly around 9 am and end at 3 pm. A light breakfast and lunch are provided. We invite you to come dressed in whatever you find most comfortable (loungewear recommended).

You can expect a calm day with time to get to know yourself and others who do similar work. Each retreat is based on a theme as noted in your registration. While each retreat is a little different, you can expect some time in circle, mindfulness practices, and time to rest.

Still curious? Check out our FAQs.

Change of plans? Please let Abby know if you can no longer attend the retreat so we can invite someone from the waitlist to attend.
