The Healing Trust has offered retreats since 2008 to say thank you to nonprofit professionals in our community by providing a free day of rest, relaxation, and self-care. Retreats are centered on the belief that the healing and wholeness of service professionals’ matter as much as the clients they serve. At least 20 retreats are offered a year with about 200 attendees throughout the year.

Q: How many years have you attended Healing for the Healer? What keeps you coming back?
A: I’ve attended yearly since 2019. The retreats are always opportunities to learn new ways to relax and meet others in our field.
Q: What is your favorite part of the retreats?
A: Every year I get the opportunity to learn self-care techniques, while sharing and educating others on how to utilize ASL Interpreters, communication accessibility, and, that the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community can do anything we set or minds to….. except hear. We just do it differently.
Q: How has your self-care practice been impacted by attending Healing for the Healer?
A: Attending Healing for the Healer has made me more self-aware of the need to take care of myself on a regular basis so I can be the best version of myself for my family, client’s friends, and anyone I may encounter through the day. Healing for the Healer covers topics on physical and mental health, stressing the importance of both in our lives.
Q: When you think about Healing for the Healer, what words or phrases come to mind?
