The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for the 23rd Judicial District provided a child-friendly center where victims/alleged victims of severe sexual and physical child abuse and their non-offending caregivers can obtain comprehensive services provided by the CAC and referrals to community partners to aid in their recovery. The CAC was formed in July 2005 to provide forensic interviews, case management, victim advocacy, counseling, and court support to victims of child abuse and their families. The funds requested in the application will support mental health professionals providing services to child victims at the Child Advocacy Center. 48 out of 60 clients (80%) will experience a reduction in symptoms. Clients who complete at least four therapy sessions demonstrate a measurable decrease in preoccupation, sleep problems, avoidance, mood swings, symptoms.
