Founded in 1943, Family & Children’s Service (FCS) serves people in crisis and transition by meeting them where they are, understanding their needs, and providing them with resources they need. FCS often ‘fills in the gaps’ in social services, creating a safety net to ensure that the children and families served can be safe, healthy, and connected. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 1,440 of 1,800 (80%) of individuals receiving services through all FCS counseling programs will report progress on their treatment plan goals. 22,500 of 25,000 (90%) callers to the Crisis Call Center will report improved coping, a de-escalation of a crisis situation, or resolution of the problem presented. 2,090 2,200 (95%) children and adults assisted through Community-Based Services programs will become aware of and connected to resources that will improve their well-being, including health care, health insurance, social services, and legal aid.
