Founded in 1943, Family & Children’s Service (FCS) serves all people in crisis and transition by meeting them where they are, understanding their needs, and providing them with the resources they need. The mission of FCS is to connect individuals and families to hope, to healing, and to one another. FCS often ‘fills in the gaps’ in social services, creating a safety net to ensure that all children and families can be safe, healthy, and connected. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include:1,440 or 80% of 1,800 individuals receiving services through all FCS counseling programs will report progress on their treatment plan goals. 380 or 95% of 400 children and adults assisted through our Community-Based Services programs will become aware of and connected to resources that will improve their well-being, including health care, health insurance, social services, and legal aid. 1,200 or 80% of 1,500 individuals receiving health navigation services from our Health Assist program who have their cases closed or complete a follow-up survey will indicate that they have obtained insurance, accessed needed healthcare services, and/or found a healthcare home that meets their needs.
