Interfaith Dental Clinic was founded in 1994 as a two-chair operation in the basement of West End United Methodist Church to provide a viable opportunity for quality, affordable dental care for working, low-income, uninsured individuals, their families and seniors. The mission of Interfaith Dental Clinic is to create a healthier community by providing transformational oral health care to those experiencing poverty. With 22 years of compassionate service, Interfaith has grown to serve residents in ten Middle Tennessee counties through 2 clinic sites, 18 chairs, 35 staff and nearly 200 volunteers. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 1,700 of 2,500 (68%) individuals in pain will be relieved and given recommendations for increased wellness involving oral hygiene, lifestyle changes, further treatment and Emergency Room visit prevention. 900 of 2,500 (36%) individuals will complete the Comprehensive Care Program and become visibly workplace ready for their personal employment situation while diminishing future chronic and oral disease risks.
