Established in 2002, the mission of The Mary Parrish Center is to provide a therapeutic transitional housing program and a myriad of loving, comprehensive services that enable survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence to heal from their abuse, reclaim their autonomy and reawaken their hopes and dreams. The funds requested in the application will support a collaborative therapist. 8 out 12 (66%) of child residents at The MPC who participate in 4 or more individual or family therapy sessions will report a decrease on the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index, indicating a reduction in PTSD symptoms, increased wellbeing, ability for the child to adjust to the changing landscape of their life. 78 out 120 (65%) of clients at the JCAC who work with the therapist will report increased connectedness to resources and support systems.
