Established in 2005, Nations Ministry Center, as an instrument of God’s grace, helps refugees in Middle Tennessee become generationally self-sufficient through job coaching and job training, family services, and youth literacy services. Family services include immigration services and programs for refugee elders. The funds requested in the application will support staff time and supplies to implement recreational therapy sessions as led by a certified recreational therapist. 70% (24 of 35) children will show an increase in social and emotional competence (determined by Aperture’s 8 SEL Competencies) as measured by DESSA-mini (Devereux Student Strengths Assessment-mini). 75% (21 out of 28) of students will report an increase in behavioral and emotional strengths as measured by BERS-2 (Behavioral and Emotional Rating Scale-2).
