Partners for Healing originated in 2001 when community leaders realized that few if any healthcare options existed in the area for working uninsured. The funds requested in the application will support a Nurse Practitioner, a nurse, a mental health counselor, and updated educational materials for well woman exam rooms. 75% of participants receiving mental health counseling will demonstrate behavioral changes in at least one of these targeted areas: Improvement in personal relationships, improved sleeping patterns, or decreased time spent on worrying, crying or dwelling. 57 out of 113 (50%) of participants will demonstrate lab values that no longer put them at risk for heart disease.
