The mission of The Refuge Center for Counseling, which was founded in 2005, is to offer affordable professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 412 of 514 (or 80%) of trauma survivors served will report they have a physical and emotional safety plan and their sense of personal empowerment has increased. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 107 of 133 (80%) of trauma survivors who commit to 4 or more EMDR reprocessing sessions will report at least a 50% decrease of the SUD (Subjective Units of Disturbance) Level related to the traumatic memory. 85 of 100 (85%) of clients that present with anxiety, depression or PTSD and have completed the pre-post test trauma assessments (given 60-90 days apart) will report a 50% decrease in symptoms. 75% (3.75 of 5) of directors who have rolled off the Board of Directors in the past three years will continue meaningful engagement with The Refuge Center for Counseling (e.g., donations, volunteerism, consultations) in 2017.
