On July 7, 1994, Michael W. Smith, a contemporary Christian music artist, founded Rocketown with a mission to offer hope to the next generation through Christ’s love. Its vision is to be the place of peace, purpose, and possibilities for youth. Rocketown’s approach to working with youth is holistic, with programs focused on engaging the mind, body, and spirit; nurturing the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health of Middle Tennessee youth. The funds requested in the application will support employment of a certified counselor to provide individual/group counseling services free of charge to youth and employment of a caseworker to assist youth with overcoming factors associated with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). 80% of youth with an ACEs score of 4 or higher will report an improvement in resiliency. 24 out of 30 (80%) of youth served will report a 30% improvement in symptomatic distress, interpersonal well-being, and social role satisfaction.
