Soldiers And Families Embraced Inc. (SAFE) provides free individual and group counseling to active duty military, veterans and their families (for deployment issues, transitions, trauma, drug and alcohol and marital counseling) at no cost to the client. The funds requested in the application will support 570 counseling sessions for combat veterans, military couples and family members and a pilot project to introduce yoga as a practice tool. Of 30 intakes of potential new clients, (85%) at least 26 will meet at least once with a counselor. Of those who meet with a counselor, (80%) at least 21 of the 26 will complete at last 10 sessions of counseling (if individuals) or 6-8 sessions if a couple. Of those, (70%) at least 15 (both individuals and couples) will see significant improvements.
