Established in 1978, the mission of the Sexual Assault Center (S.A.C.) is to provide healing for children, adults, and families affected by sexual assault and to end sexual violence through counseling, education, and advocacy. S.A.C. is the only Middle Tennessee agency that exclusively provides treatment for sexual assault survivors to mitigate the impact of their trauma. S.A.C. is also a leader in advocacy for survivors and in preventing the devastation of sexual assault through education – reaching more than 200,000 children and adults statewide through a continuum of age-specific programs. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 70% of clients will meet treatment goals. 90% of clients will report satisfaction with care. The number of Hispanic, African American, and LGBTQ survivors served will increase by 10%. 70% of trained children will also be able to identify 3 or more safe adults and achieve the skills necessary to make healthy choices and decisions.
