Tennessee Immigrant And Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) is a statewide, immigrant and refugee-led collaboration whose mission is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout Tennessee to develop a unified voice, defend their rights, and create an atmosphere in which they are recognized as positive contributors to the state. Since founding in 2003, TIRRC has grown from an informal network of community leaders into one of the most diverse and effective coalitions of its kind, a model for immigrant rights organizations throughout the U.S. The funds requested in the application will support  access to health services for all immigrants and refugees in Tennessee by engaging in administrative and legislative advocacy to protect and increase access, remove barriers, and limit exclusion. TIRRC will also help to transform the state’s conversation about health to be more inclusive of an increasingly diverse population while shifting the public narrative over the long-term in order to create the space for proactive policies that promote health access and equity.
