The Williamson County Child Advocacy Center dba Davis House Child Advocacy Center opened in 2000. The agency provides a safe, child-friendly place for child victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse to tell their story and receive the services they need to help them heal. The agency mission is to combat child abuse by coordinating services to children and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. The funds requested in the application will support the part-time clinical therapist, who provides mental health counseling for child victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse. 55 out of 75 (75%) of child victims will complete all treatment goals. 49 out of 55 (90%) of child victims who complete all treatment goals will show a reduction of trauma symptoms such as sleeplessness, nervousness, fear, or anxiety based on standardized age appropriate pre- and post- assessments so that they may be able to reduce trauma related risky behaviors.
