AIMHiTN became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March 2017. Born out of a 7+ year grassroots initiative which brought together individuals and agencies interested in infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH), AIMHiTN works to develop relationships across state departments and community agencies, identify existing resources and opportunities, and work to identify what is needed to address the mental health needs of infants, young children, and their families. The funds requested in the application will support design, preparation, and facilitation of a two-part group retreat and a strategic planning document. The areas the agency will work on during the grant term will be developing a formal process to engage our stakeholders in agenda setting, examining our fiscal policies and ability to support advocacy activities, particularly with an eye to long-term sustainability, and developing a media relations strategy.
