KIPP Nashville’s vision is that one day every student in Nashville will have access to a college-preparatory public school seat. The school’s mission is to cultivate in our students the academic and character skills needed to succeed in top colleges and life beyond. KIPP Nashville began with KIPP Academy Nashville in 2005 and will consist of two elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school in fall 2017. The funds requested in the application will support a portion of the annual salary for the Director of Student Services (DSS). The DSS manages the Student Health and Family wellness program staff, resources, and community partners. 60% (195 of 300) of students identified for individual counseling will improve their score by 2 points on the Pediatric Symptom Checklist (Youth or Parent Report) during the 2017-18 school year. 65% (195 of 300) of students identified for group counseling will improve their score by 2 points on the Pediatric Symptom Checklist (Youth of Parent Report) during the 2017-18 school year. 75% (1275 of 1,700) of KIPP Nashville students will not receive a suspension during the 2017-18 school year.
